These are 3 of the four I've had as an adult.

Nikko - Husky/GSD/Wolf. I got him at 8 weeks and he was the best, smartest, most obedient dog I've ever had. I had to have him put down 2 weeks before his 14th b-day.

Baloo - Siberian Husky. I got him at 8 months, he was a very happy dog but also a huge PITA. He died of complications from diabetes at age 10 1/2.

Santo - Leonburger/Golden Retriever. Got him at 8 months, overall a pretty good dog. I had to put him down at age 13 1/2.

All 3 playing in the mountains:

I'll eventually get a couple more dogs in the future.

Some of the pics have the same dog, and others were dogs that I trained or boarded.

are we talking had all added up over life or had at the same time?

max at the same time........ 5

over life.... boy... quick count is 32 but i am probably missing a few of the ones i loved less than the wife.

after my 16yr old dog passes i look forward to zero new dogs coming into the house. as much as i love having them around it has become a real handful taking care of them and keeping life moving easy.

My dad bred and trained labs growing up. I spent a fair amount of time working with and training dogs. Only had one of my own, grumpy mean greyhound. Love of my life he was. Been gone almost 6 years and I'm finally almost ready to maybe get another, maybe.

7 total including mine and family.
3 mine
1st black lab lived to a healthy 16 then straight up fell over dead one night. We played fetch for about 20 minutes the day before. Still miss him probably the best lab I have even known.

2nd yellow lab/golden mix. He is 13 now and its getting close. He is an amazing dog was a skinny 105lbs in his prime, border collie smart and super gentle. Going to really hurt when that day comes.

3rd black lab. 10years old. Amazing duck dog and completely loyal to me. Hes chosen smart over hard but hes a pretty dog...

From here on, most are dual purpose k9 or single purpose. Some are board and trains. I was doing pet dogs at the time.

I buried a dog about every two years when I was a kid. We lived on a highway. Probably had eight dogs growing up. Went without for about 30 years and have had two since then.

I didnt think that was bragging. Its typical for people to have a pic of dogs theyve had.

Did your dad have a religious proscription against fences?

Hey RR, have you got a suggestion for Dog Training for Dummies?
