What are some of the must sees in Honolulu? Flying in tomorrow and flying out on Thursday headed to Pago Pago.

What should I see?

FINE hookers and cheap. $400 for two and they were
If you like dive bars, hit up the Honolulu Tavern. Cheap stiff drinks.

And whatever everyone one else said. If you have time, snorkel Hanauma Bay.

I fucking hate Honolulu and Waikiki. If I were you, I'd rent a car and head east to Kailua. Eat lunch at Kailua Town Pub and Grill. Awesome cheap happy hour. Then head north beach hopping till you get back to Honolulu.

Don't have time to see much in just a day. If you've never been to the Pearl Harbor Memorial do it. You won't forget it.

Stay far away from Kailua unless you like sitting in traffic all day.

Compared to what? Honolulu?

It wasn't bad for me 2 months ago on a Wednesday even.

I rented a convertible mustang through Turo, did what I said hitting many beaches and had the car back in Honolulu 8 hours later. It was easy and I ate lots of good food. Hit up food carts in the north shore for sure.

One day? I lived on that shit hole for 15 years. Oahu was ranked 3rd in the nation for worst traffic.

You're only there for a day....honestly, just find a nice beach, a case of beer, and relax for the 1 day that you're there. Fuck the tourist shit

Yes, one day. I picked the car up at noon in Honolulu, had it back at 8pm in Honolulu. I stopped and swam a 6 beaches that day.

I also agree with this except the case of beer. It gets hot quick.

Why? Cliffs?

That island caters to a lot of honeymooners, prolly to blame for car traffic?

Nobody said the island sucks. He said that Honolulu and Waikiki suck. That is hardly the entire island. I'd get as far away from those two as possible.

If any time is left you could check out Diamond Head, a beach, and/ or drive through Waikiki just to say you saw it.

While your waiting around to go out to the USS Arizona; take some time to tour the USS Bowfin Submarine. Grab the self guided headsets; you can thank me later.

USS Bowfin (SS/AGSS-287), a Balao-class submarine, was a boat of the United States Navy named for the bowfin fish. Since 1981, she has been open to public tours at the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, next to the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center.

I recently took my gf to the USS Alabama. You can self guide on the tour. I was walking from space to space explaining to her the workings of the ship and what was significant in each area. Shortly into the tour I noticed that 4 people were following closely and listening. As we finished there were about 15 people with us. They thanked me for the awesome tour. It was really fun to share my experiences via the USS Alabama.

I'll agree with touring Perl Harbor and snorkeling Hanauma bay.

And Pago Pago sounds awesome .

Because it's a cespool of tourists and traffic, pretty much like any other big city There is much more culture and beautiful scenery to that island than those two overbuilt tourist meca area. The drive around the island is unlike anything I've ever seen before.

Expanding on my earlier post:
If you want to see scenery and check out some beaches then I totally agree, grab a car and head toward Diamond Head. Hike that (figure an hour), then keep driving around towards the north and east.

Pearl Harbor, USS Missouri and USS Bowfin was a great experience. We took the full tour of Missouri. Reading the letters the Japanese kamikazes wrote home on the eve of their flight really highlights the human toll of war. There is also an aviation museum their but we didn't have time to check that out.

Edit: Don't forget everything runs on island time. If google says the drive will take 45 minutes, no it'll take 1.5 hours. Plan your time like you're in LA, double everything.
