There was a time when trucks were like old Mack B's with small noisy hot cabs ,200 hp and the driver rowed a compound gearbox. The image was a stocky guy with a cigar and Popeye arms from the lack of power steering. Now they are just steering wheel holders...

At least he takes pride in his work. Might be gay-pride, but whatever...

I'm out on strike right now, but at work, closed property, we've got an early 80s Pete with a big cam Cummins, 10 speed with a wet kit to pull a dovetail, puts a huge fucking smile on my face when I'm running it

Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight

First class 8 rig I drove was a 1978 C/O Freight shaker with no power steering or brakes.

The guys driving trucks now a days would shit themselves if they had to back that shit up with a 48ft. wagon in a northeast tight little dock.

I used to think automatics where for pussies to stupid to drive a standard trans , now that my knees are so jacked up I'm rethinking my position on that.
I don't like them but they have their place , but if you can't do standard you are not a real trucker.

Instead of short throw, a super long throw Looks like a great thing to bash your face into in an accident.

Stoopid question for you OTR truck guys: I see this guy is wearing ear buds. I worked at a car audio shop back in the 90's and did a few pretty crazy installs in big trucks. Subwoofer enclosures built under the bed in the sleeper with a wall of mids/highs on either side, amps flush mounted in the walls, lots of neon lights, etc.

I love music and am still a bit of an audiophile and have a stereo "system" in every vehicle I own. I always thought if I were a truck driver, I would be jamming music 24/7 in my rig like the guys we used to build stereos for.

Is an over the top stereo even a "thing' anymore, or do guys just jam their ear buds and row gears?
