Coffee maker tech

Ok, I know there have been some threads on the best coffee maker. This is differnt. Let me say this right up front, I love coffee, but I am not a coffee Connoisseur. I don't want espresso. I don't want cap pachinko. I'm not looking for the best coffee on the planet. I will heat up day old coffee in the microwave.

I just want to have a regular ole cup of freakin coffee without a lot of hassle. When I was teens, I had a cheapo coffee maker. It was easy to set up and made coffee. It lasted 15 years till I moved to Canada. (I threw it away) I relied on other people's CM's from than untill I got married. My wife had an old CM that worked fine for 10 years. (It was probably 30 years old)

That one started leaking about a year ago and I chucked it and bought a new one. If I had known the trouble I was in for, I would have fixed it. Now I've been through 4 CM's with multiple problems. I just want a simple f'ing coffee maker that works. This morning the CM overflowed water and grounds all over the counter. I'm done with it. I don't need fancy timers or sensors to deturmin the strength. I don't need Bluetooth hookups to the net. I don't need a calender or calculator on it.

Is there any help for me?

I buy one of these every three or four years. They eventually load up with calcium from my hard water, but now I'm using RO so it will probably last another two years. That's $5 a year for a coffee maker, and now I have several carafes for when I have to feed a bunch of people.

We've had this for 3-4 years. Picked it up for $5 brand new at Goodwill.

I love coffee and am a coffee snob. I really want a hard plumbed coffee maker with a built in grinder where all I have to do is load beans and hit a button to get some coffee. Can't seem to find one with good reviews.

100 bunny coffee maker from walmart or whatever box store near you. It keeps the water hot so when you poor in cold it comes out instant. Also works great for cup of noodles or whatever else you want scalding hot water for. They seem to last 10-15 years

The one that I have right now (that is giving me trouble) is a 12 cup Mr. coffee. Mine is not like that one. Mine has a lot of buttons on the front. Does yours have a arm that needs to be swung out of the way to get the filter in and out? Does yours have a little pre-filter that you must put on top of the other filter? Both of these "features" are a PITA.

This. Get a Farberware stainless 12 cup electric percolator. Dirt simple and excellent coffee and keeps it hot as long as you want.

This or something similar.
Water, heater, pump. That's it.

Just let it run longer for drip coffee style drink.

WTF did you buy that broke your little brain?

I like mine to shut off in two hours. Easy to use, just put in water and coffee, has a brew delay if I ever want it. Has a "strong brew" feature but I never push it. I buy the Mr. Coffee units. They last about 4-5 years. I use reusable filters so I never have to use the paper ones. Just rinse and fill. Push 1 button once and it turns on and brews.

Sounds like mine. Throw the little filter away, buy a reusable plastic filter for the coffee and just push the lower left button once. Stop pushing the other buttons. The arm is not a big deal and closes buy itself when you close the lid .

Everybody has what they like and that is all that matters. After many years of playing CM games and running the gamut of high and low dollar options, I finally figured out what I like. I was always running a pot through and then turning off the burner because I don't like the burnt taste of coffee that has been sitting on the burner and nothing tastes better than the first fresh cup. Microwaving the next 3 cups just wasn't the same.

I have one of the larger Bunn 12 cup models and it was the same, first cup is good, next ones are burnt tasting to me or microwaved and again, not what I like.

Kat bought the Keurig piece of shit. Even with the add your own grounds adapter it still sucked. None of the cups are strong enough and I was running two of them for one cup of coffee. Still not good and too expensive.

Decide to try a Bunn MC single cup. I make a fresh cup of coffee each time I want coffee. It has solved all of my issues and does it well. It is a bit more hassle than I would prefer but I'll tolerate that since is solves the rest of the things I dislike.

I am happy with my Keurig. It works every time, and I normally only do one cup.

Just throw it in a pot with some water and boil it.

Strain it before drinking if you want. I don't personally.
