N.E.P.A. changes proposed

Sounds like a good step to me. More at the link below.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/09/polit...act/index.html

Quote:
Washington (CNN)The Trump administration plans to rewrite decades-old regulations to make it easier to build major infrastructure such as pipelines, which would have the effect of relaxing government efforts to fight the climate crisis.

President Donald Trump announced Thursday morning the changes to National Environmental Policy Act rules, which requires federal agencies to assess the environmental impact of projects such as the construction of mines, highways, water infrastructure and gas pipelines.

Trump and administration officials said the changes are necessary to speed up approval for needed infrastructure projects.

"These endless delays waste money, keep projects from breaking ground and deny jobs to our nation's incredible workers. From day one, my administration has made fixing this regulatory nightmare a top priority," Trump said at the White House.

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Andrew Wheeler said NEPA rules are a "Frankenstein of a regulatory regime" and "welfare project" for trial attorneys.

The proposal would set time limits on environmental assessments and changes what impacts must be considered, two significant moves that could make it easier to approve projects.

Agencies will no longer have to consider "cumulative" effects of new infrastructure under the new rule, which courts have interpreted as a mandate to study effects of emitting more greenhouse gas emissions, according to The New York Times and The Washington Post, which reported the proposals earlier Thursday. That includes the impacts of climate change, including rising sea levels.

Having worked in construction for close to 30 years I know of lots of projects that have either taken forever to get approved or just dropped because of Gov. regulations

People need to understand the US government is our nations biggest problem, and everyone seems to want more of it.

The EPA is out of control and must be cut to size. Nobody supports dumping dioxin into rivers but when every amoeba habitat becomes a protected wetland then we need to take action.

My thoughts exactly.

I can't count the number of trails in my state alone that have been lost due to migratory birdgatorcoon paths.

N.E.P.A. changes proposed

Well its gotten a bit better. I have a neighbor that may or may not have done unpermitted pond work. Got turned in by a cunt walking her dog and trespassing. They came out. Basically said look, We know we have a reputation for fine and jail but under the current administration we are now trying to educate people to do it correctly and not fine people any more. He had to pay for an engineer to approve his new dike and pay for the permits he should have gotten. No fines and they even complimented him on his nice work. So something is changing.

We are trying to get 3 new trails in an area that previously had trails and now have none. They passed all of the technical reviews but the head ranger has said we are not opening them. No reason, just no. It's bullcrap.

Exactly! The crazy part is a lot of these sites can still dump all kinds of shit everywhere because they bought a permit or some offsets, meanwhile I'm a damn criminal if I put a non OEM cat on my truck or dig a ditch without a study.

Haveing been in meetings with our enviornmental attorneys looking at compliance issues and developing compliance strategies, the epa regs are purposely written vague and contradictory for application how they see fit on a case by case basis. Its clearly a money grab and a way to punish those who they dont like and are not connected.

Say what you will about OSHA, but at least their regulations are easy to interpret and you can at least attempt to comply with them without a legal team. Not so with the EPA.

Exactly.

Until you work for them, or are contracted by them, you really can't comprehend the inefficiency of government. If you want something to barely work and get fucked ten ways to Sunday, put the feds in charge.

Funny. My dad asked me to take a generation off from getting shot in combat. Kind of a family tradition
But said if you suck with women join the army you’ll get fucked at least once a day.
