cuttin' a new trail.....

here's some shots of a new trail. we only got 1/3 the way through and pulled out due to time, damage, overheating and rain.

still abunch o brush in the bottom we need to pull out. oh, and this isn't much of an indicator as to what the rest looks like. right beyond this is 2 sets of nasty ledges and boulder garden with a boulder climb out and then another looooong climb over lots of loose smaller boulders/rocks (about the size of cow heads )....

i'll get shots of that when we get that far.....

i know, i know, shoulda put the driver's side tires on the wall....

the pull out....

we got a late start because one of use was having technical difficulties in the parking lot, so we played a little....

exactly. No one stepped up and helped the Texan's when our rivers (the ONLY public land in Texas) were being taken from us so there is NO public land in Texas.

I hope it's not too late for people to gather together to help those of you in the REST of the country.

yeah, sorry, forgot to mention where. are you kidding? there is no public land in TX........

Cline Ranch in Pipe Creek, TX, just outside San Antonio. this is the hardest trail on the property so far. originally, the owner was thinking of closing to the public, but he did a 180 and now wants to attract more business, so, we're cutting new trails.

There's quite a few wheeling places starting in that area now!

Trees Ranch, Wheeling Ranch, Katemcy Rocks, and I think I saw a couple of other ones here lately.

SATANS PLAYGROUND

LONGS RANCH

there's actually a LOT now. TMTC will be opening one near Ozona. there are a few other small ones in south and central TX, a few in southeast TX, a couple in the panhandle, etc. but so far, Trees is my favorite, so far, but satan's playground looks like fun. i should make it to katemcy sometime this summer.

i tried, believe me, drove about 30 feet on the side.....

i kept hoping my driver's side tire would catch and climb, but it would just get bound up and stop me.

it's losing the doors soon anyway (if i can get them off now...)

actually, aaron youre wrong, the canadian river area is still open to OHV use, it is the last of the public land though unfortunately (except i cant remember if the lake meridith OHV area is open or not).

i also think that the amarillo jeep exclusive (i.e. homosexual club) has limited access to palo duro canyon for an event or two every year

but yes, other than that i think everything is closed that was public

The only reason the Canadian river area is still open is because it doesn't originate in TX. The law that makes it illegal to wheel in navigable waterways has a loophole that allows wheeling in waterways that do not originate in Texas.
