Electronic Cigarettes

So anyone smoke the electronic cigs? My old lady hates the way I smell from smoking and I don't like it much either. Want to quit and think this will help somewhat.

A guy I worked with and his wife used them. They were both pack+ a day smokers for 15+ years. worked for them. Also, because it isn't tobacco, and it isn't burning, you can use it anywhere.

My buddy smoked since he was a teenager, so did his wife. They hung around smokers and when we went places they drove separate cars just so they could smoke. One time they were hanging out at my place and the next day I mentioned our house still smelled like smoke and he took it pretty seriously.

They both got one of those things and quit cold turkey. Neither have them have smoked at all since they did it. He know says the thought of a cig makes him sick. And while these people are great, I would not call them the most disciplined or dedicated, he said they were each going through at least a pack a day before.

Gimmick. Quit cold turkey get a cat to kick and yell a lot. Thats basically what I did after smoking 2.5 packs/day for 30 yrs. Been cig free for a tad over 12 yrs now.

My boss and his wife started using them. It's pretty neat. The initial cost is a little steep but the refills now only cost them about ten bucks a month. She now only smokes about a pack a week and he has quit completely. I'm prolly gonna get one in the near future and see how it works for me.

I have no idea what an electronic cigarette is. Off to google I go..

EDIT: Ok so I was thinking it was an alternative to actually smoking. seems it's the same other than no smoke

For people not knowing like myself.

Guy at work smokes one on occasion. I work with explosives and he said it's a good alternative to having to go stand in the cold to smoke...lol

Pretty slick idea, nicotine delivery sans the smoke. I foresee lots of profit in their future and some lawsuits too.

Just quit. nicotine isn't necessary and once you go without it a while, you won't need it anymore.

My mother in law tried pills / patches / gum / etc without much success.

The little plastic substitute with the nicotine insert worked like magic for her.

Good Luck!

I'd like to try them, but I need some one to smuggle them for me.

They are illegal in California.

Can you get 'em in Nevada? I'm headed to Reno on Thursday.

A buddy of mine is using one to try to quit, he was puffing on it at another buddy's house during a meeting and bragging about how it's smokeless therefore you can use it anywhere because it's just "water vapor". Bullshit, it may not be smoke and it may not be as bad but it still smells like shit and it still gives the appearance of a smoke filled room before it dissipates. We put his ass outside with his electronic cigarette.

Can you refill the cartridges with other stuff. Vodka or rum maybe. Get drunk while feeling like smoking.

I found a e-cig forum similar to the PBB with lots of help. I ordered a 510 kit from cignot.com. Seems to be the one everyone raves about on the forum

Really? That's odd.

They have a kiosk for them @ the mall on Sunrise in Citrus Heights, CA.

yeah it just vaporizes the nicotene/flavor liquid inside the cartridge and thats all you get. No tar or other junk normally associated with smokes.

Yea i ordered mine on Tuesday, got it here yesterday. I like it, no more freezing my ass off.

Yes there is a scent, but i smoke menthols , there for the lingering smell is minty. But as soon as the vapor dissipates so does the smell.

the taste reminds me of smoking out of a hookah. They package the cartriges with some fruity stuff to cover up the taste of breaking in the atomizer and reminds me of some fruit punch hookah tobacco.

The menthol on the other hand that i got with it as well, reminds me of biting into a piece of nicorette gum, right before it chokes your throat. Its not bad. but ill be ordering some more flavors.

Kept me content and i smoke nearly 3 packs a day, and i haven't picked up a regular cig since i got it. But of course i picked a high mg nicotine e liquid to come with the kit.

Now the battery doesn't last super long, but they got bigger models that goes days with out charging. Mine on the other hand has a carrying case that doubles as a charger, and i got two batts. So i just switch it over periodically.

Anthony

holy shit, 3 packs? I haven't got my kit yet, but there are USB passthrough things where you can sit at the computer all day long and puff away without having to recharge.

But im not always at the computer, i saw those, very neat. But a car charger would be better for me. and i can just get the usb wall pcc adapter. and plug it on the power strip on the side of my tool box.

Well i went through 3 packs a day, i probably only smoked two, id get to wrenching on something, set it down and forget about it.
