Possible to beef up an RA-10 with later shafts?

I broke a shaft in the rear of my '56 s120 and so far I'm finding a lot of people have similar shafts, but they are a finer spline than the 10-spline shafts I have. I'm wondering if it's a relatively simple swap to swap spiders, or even the carrier from a fine spline (no idea the years). I'm guessing it would help with strength a little but the biggest reason I'd like to do it is just to get the thing back on the road.

We'll I think the "fine spline" means dana 60 so I'm guessing it's not going to be an easy swap. Easier to swap to the big 6 d60 if needed. Ended up finding a stock shaft for my ra10 so I'll just be careful and hopefully it will be fine. An interesting axle, the ring gear is riveted to the carrier and has a big 3 pinion bearing support. Would be a really strong axle if the shafts were sized appropriately.
3rd member had been out at some point at appeared to have newspaper used for a gasket and I saw "1968" referenced on it.
