cause it's a flat color and I wanted something other than brown, gray, or black and that is about all the flat choices at wal mart

Really my kid wanted green so green it is (His name is Scout so who am I to complain with his choice of color for the scout )

Here's my rig - still in build-up phase. Will be installing gears for the front, moving Detroit to the front & adding hydro assist, spool in the rear. Then some bumpstops and I'll be ready to roll.

Its a little farther than I'd like but I'm really short so no fear of bean'n the noggin.

I would've liked the legs to have bent in towards the firewall instead of straight down (hit my knee on it multiple times)..don't know if that would affect the integrity of the cage though

Ok then, here I am. Totally new to this Scout business, the best I can figure is that mine is a '63 80 with all the regular stuff. It has a neat liftgate style halfcab that opens behind the seats. 4.88s, power lock, runs kinda. I paid $300 and it comes with another somewhat complete body and 3 engines that I haven't picked up yet. With the spare body, hopefully I can source the missing fender and dashboard, otherwise there're a couple in a local junkyard.

It's on 33x12.50s that I could barely squeeze on the 5-1/2" wheels so I guess I have to add some 15x8s to the plans but at least now it rolls better than when it had 3 flats.

I'm gonna try to resurrect the 152 for now but I'd like to do a 4.3 GM or 5.0 Ford swap in the future with a T18 or something. The T90 pops out of 2nd so I need to address that if I keep the stock drivetrain for a while.

Scout II axles are what I'd like to find before laying any cash into rebuilding the brakes on this thing. I have a standing offer for a free set but I have to ship them from one of the Dakotas. I may settle for some FSJ 44s that are so much more common. Keeping with the "already been done" theme, I'll probably swap in YJ springs at the same time that I do the axles.

The goal is to have something built on a budget with used parts that I can beat the snot out of here in Panamint Valley (I can see Surprise Canyon from my front yard). It's proving to be a tough task trying to add this to the mix of juggling my girlfriend and tweaking on my M715.
