Sounds to me like both itineraries would be a blast, so I'll decide when we get there. I'll be there in the am, before 9am ready to go.
Changes since Taco Feed:
  • Swapped out carb for 470cfm Holley TA, was testing rebuild carb at Taco Feed...it failed...lol.
  • Corrected ARB air line burning in half with exhaust manifold contact AND remembering to bring spare air line.
  • Still working on Hydro assist. Have Rocklogic sending out longer hydrolic lines and will recieve on THURSDAY! Talk about last minute for a mod that has never been run or tested. Worst case senario, I remove the ram and run regular, so no biggie.
  • Corrected steering issue by cutting down and shortening the new drag link. I now have full and equal steering range of motion
  • Got my shock mount welded back on. Ok, so I did a piss poor job welding it the first time.
  • Got some frame cracks fixed, but managed to burn a brake line in the process AND clean up all the spilt brake fluid.
  • Made new brake line.
  • Bringing spare brake line.
  • Got spare front axles ready for trip. Cleaned em up and they look great. Thanks to Jeff who loaned me a front long and short axle. But the short had a busted outer. Got the good outer installed on the axle. Will return items better than given, which is what my parents taught me. I don't have a rear axle spare....hope I don't need it!
Looking forward to the trip, seeing you all again and meeting those who I haven't wheeled with yet.
See you Friday,
Don Palmer

white dots on the highway.... so many of them..... they're everywhere!!! I counted 147 of them in one mile.

Keep an eye out for this rig.... that's my POS draggin' my junk on my ugly-ass "I didn't have time to paint it" trailer.

Mech, that's it?!? With all the work you've been putting into it, I thought it'd be plated in GOLD!

Keep talkin like that you might be solo from the start,

"cause you wont be able to keep up"

This has got to be the most accurate sentance so far! doesn't mean I won't try though

See you Friday AM.

It is gold plated..... but I had to paint it flat tan because I couldn't afford the matching gold beadlocked spinners.

The tail head in Tahoe is marked, but its in the back of a residential neighborhood. So look for signs. I will have to look for some pic's for ya.

uh, you climb lots of grades BEFORE the turnoff..

It's a sweeping left turn right after a bridge, right where the lanes neck down. Be ready to turn when you see this sign. Got hi-speed net? I got quicktime files of every road in CA so you can drive it before you drive it

Ok guys..... looks like I'll be parking my shit at Loon. See you guys there. I'll be in sometime tonight (Thursday) or evening or something like that. I'm in Win-a-muck-a (not a clue how to actually spell that... but that's how you say it) Nevada.
