Looking forward to a "ready mix" Jeep foundation. Good idea, long time due.

Please, when you get dedicated thread. Get plenty of PBB input

My 2,
• Different levels of kits
• AFFORDABLE pre-cut & notched DIY (weld yourself) kits all the way to turn key...

Was thinking the same about the diy kits and different levels of cost. Could do a basic kit that is just a you weld it kit and then a more advanced pre assembled setup or one that comes with stuff that is needed for the swap then last a full on built kit.

Oh, I plan to. I need to get another yellow start before I go too far though. I'll be busy another month or two with a few paying jobs. So I'll wait till I have more time to devote.

Really happy to hear the positive responses. It's been a little more than 2 years in the planning.

I think that idea would have a ton of takers including me.

Buy your kit, get a cheap XJ, swap it all over and have a good time!

Or even people who are ready to move from a built full body rig to a tube rig could just move it all over and save a ton of time.

love it!

Been consumed by other projects. We're 4 linking my buddy's XJ this weekend and I plan to go ride with him next weekend. I'm sure that'll lite a fire to get it done. I bought a set of 2.5 x 12 fox air shocks for it. I'm gonna go ahead and buy some heims and 3 link the front when I do the axle swap too.

Arguable with those link brackets.... It's the little things like that that stand out.

I'll talk to my Brother-in-law (the guy you sold it to) I was the guy that came with him to pick it up from you.

Definitely let me know. Depending how destroyed it is I'd consider buying it back....

Now back to our regularly scheduled program

I just put another HP30 and a rubicon 44 under it for now. Lunchbox front and spool rear with 4340 shafts and 4.56's. I am just going to run my rubicon wheels and 32's till I finish my other axles and put the 35's back on.

I haven't felt like finishing that few bits to get it on a trail. It's been miserably hot lately. I need to toss the drive shafts in and bleed the brakes and adjust the rear pinion angle still. Oh, and build a new track bar. I drove it from one bay in the shop, through the parking lot and into another about a month ago.

How it sits right now.

I really loved reading this build; it's one of the more interesting ones I have seen in a long while. A real budget build that uses as much of what you have available instead of high dollar bling shit. The nice fab work helps too. I liked the firewall buggy xj build also.

Plus, you get to tell people you ran the same trails they did with wontons, 39.5s, and $10k worth of other stuff with your dana 30 XJ and 35s.

I almost wish I didn't read this though; I've been thinking of building a $1000 5.0 explorer with a free d30 on a cheap set of 33" tractor tires for a while. I just don't have the space for it right now.

I hope you get this thing going again soon. Seeing your build definitely has inspired me quite a bit for when I build my Cherokee.
