The Chief will likely get its own build thread in Non-Hardcore at some point once I've sandbagged appropriately. Currently, I'm just doing simple maintenance to keep the 40 year old, 260K mile drivetrain running, and patching the larger of the rust holes.

Long term plans are as follows:

-Originally planned for 4BT, but thinking L92 for weight and to keep lift limited to 2.5" for 33's.

-3.0 Atlas, or NP241 if I can find one right.

-JK 44 front mod'd to match WT WMS. ARB.

-D60 rear. ARB.

-33" MTR-Ks

-Replace all rusted sheet metal to return vehicle to bone stock appearance.

-Custom stainless 1" full cage rack for boats, bikes, gear, etc.

Basically, I intended to build a utility oriented daily driver that will suit my needs to cruise down the interstate towing a camper (or potentially my rig) with my canoes and bikes on top, and still be capable of reaching any trailhead while carrying a weeks worth of outdoor gear for two folks inside.

All for $7-10K less than a new Rubi Unlimited.

Essentially, it's getting time for a new DD. The Dodge is over 300k and I'm damn sure not paying $60K+ for a new Ram so i'll retire mine to tow-only duty. And since no one builds anything worth the money they're asking (particularly with a manual transmission)- I'm building what I want.
