Wink I have this idea and I dont think anyone's ever done it before... advice?

So my thought is, I want to take a j10 hood and chop the sides off of it so only the center "nose" section is left then weld and bondo the hood piece to my cj hood, then make a new core support to make a j10 looking "rhino" grill. Then I want to make j10 fenders with a tube structure and make the front of my cj look like a j10. I dont think this has ever been done before and i just wanna know what the best offroad forum around thinks of this idea?

It serves no purpose other than looks, thats jk grade bs.

But go for it. Worst case is you dont like it in the end.

I think it's not hard core.

As mentioned, it's been done on JK's.

JK Gladiator Conversion - Chris Durham Motorsports

But it's all looks, not performance.

I know it's been done on jks but it looks retarded on a wrangler. I think it would be pretty badass on a cj. You're correct not performance but it would also help me give my radiator more room since I dont have a 258 I have a 4.0 and my radiator has almost no room, this could help when I remake a core support

Still not hard core.

258 and 4.0 are the same length.

But to each his own, I guess.

Clearly I made a mistake asking for advice on this. I'm not trying to improve the performance of the jeep because my dad wanted that left the way he did it, 4.0 ax15 Dana 300 twin stick and widetrack axles with 4.54s and Detroit ex lockers. And when I posted that wanted ad I was looking for a j10 that I could restore and drive around. I know where I can find parts to do my front end change but I always thought they were cool. Cleary I shouldn't ask for advice or thoughts.

How about you do ask for advice or thoughts, but in a different manner and a different forum?

Just hack up the core support if you want a bigger radiator instead off fagging it up with some crossbred inbred hillbilly clusterfuckery

Nah just post without fear, unless your "build" involves more lightbars than lockers we all do dumb shit and get a bunch of shit for doing it, its half the fun

Maybe the only "mistake" was posting the question in hardcore, where newbie might have been better received.

Many pro fabbers started out doing "stupid" mods on all sorts of projects. So, complete your plans and learn from it....good or bad out come....as mentioned, do it and if you like or you don't like the final product so be it.

IMO, the CD Glad hood on the JK looks pretty cool....but only from the front. When I see the JK as a whole with that clip...well, not so much.

PS. Detroit "ex" lockers are what...no longer lockers?
