Long time lurker. I have a build thread in other sites. Figured Iíd finally post up here since I get most my tech from this site. Had my YJ for about 15 years now. Itís been though incremental builds, 33ís, 35ís & 8.8 SOA, 37-4Dís and tons. In October I finally started building the rig I wanted. Here are the cliffs:

The chop.

Filtered for IG pics.

Now to current work: Storage containers in dead space inside fender wells. They will have water tight marine access hatches on the top.

Pretty good amount of storage x2.

Thatís it for now in a nutshell. Learning as I go.

I hate you so much.

It's like you looked into my mind, and are building what I picture my YJ to be in about 5 years...

Wow, that look really sharp. I dig the exhaust.

I'd like to to something similar with the exhaust on my hacked up JK, but I don't think I have the room to pull it off.

Killer, seen a few of your pics floating around online. Im stealing your exhaust setup for my LJ. Love the brake line set up, where did you get your short braided lines from? The billet clamps add a nice touch also. What front axle and what wheelbase are you running?

Thank you, I got the stainless lines and small clamps from summit racing (along with almost all my plumbing except front link clamps are AJK off-road)

I went with DOT lines because it will still see street time. Non DOT lines are half the price. I would suggest 11Ē lines over 9Ē. 9Ē is fine at the axle end, but doesnít leave me much room for adjusting my frame side uppers (I have 3 holes).
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-656012

Here are the clamps.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/EAR-167503ERL

https://ajkoffroad.com/shop/hydraulic-brake-line-clamp/

The front axle is a 79 Ford 60. Current wheel base is 116.5Ē I was at 118Ē but didnít like that much thread exposed on the JJís in the front and made a last minute shift to CV in the rear so I had to keep the truss off the tank.

Thank you. The boxes have been the story of this build iteration ďscope creep.Ē I kept looking at that space and thinking ďdamn thatís just waisted space!Ē Also used to have an under hood toolbox which was an amazing trail burrito warmer that I had to get rid of due to the strut hoops, so I needed a place for the tools. You extended and comp cut? What WB are you sitting at? How do you like it? Would you have done anything differently knowing what you know now?

A sawzall/plasma cutter/ angle grinder coupled with a metal gluing machine can make room any where you need.

I started that FB group for the very reason a few guys on here stated, ideas! Anyone with a frame/body stretched YJ/CJ or plans to do it is welcome to join. I donít want it turning into a group of a bunch of idiots that donít have or have no intention to have an ďUnlimitedĒ build. A lot of things I have done I found in forum threads. I much prefer forum format for tech, but between FB and the photosuckit debacle forum traffic has really taken a beating. I have been following along on FB, Pirate and JeepForum to a few guys in the group. My full build (from booger welds with a harbor freight stick welder to now with my official YouTube weld certification lol) is on JeepForum under ďIROCK Jeep build thread.Ē Hope to share some good tech and bounce ideas back and forth off everyone here.

YJ porn. Nice.

Does the exhaust go over, under or through the frame rail? Where did you get those tips?

Over the frame rail. They are from summit racing. Here is a link to all of them they sell. I REALLY wanted the angled dual one, but when I got it in and test fit there was no way it would fit.

https://www.summitracing.com/search?...y%20exhaust%20

Damn, I was avoiding this pic, but Iíll throw it out there so you can see routing. Got lazy in this section of exhaust and didnít switch my wire back to .024 from .035 which with my skill level makes welding the exhaust a huge PITA. So not my finest welds, but oh well. Nothing I canít clean up if I really wanted to make it seamless.

Wheelbase is 115. I don't really like the comp cut anymore. But it's done so I'm leaving it. Iv always looked at that space and wanted to do basically what u did but haven't. I built a stroker 4.7 for it which I love. Don't think people need the 5.3/6.0's for wheeling. But to each there own. Mines set up for trail/desert. Iv tuned the suspension to run (slower) but not to far behind my pops and brother with there Oj bronco prerunners (linked coilover, bypass full caged haul ass desert cars). I'm slower but I get there at a pretty good clip. Prob should have done bigger front/rear housing. But didn't. I have hp44/9". But had stock axles and ran 39's for a year.broke a couple axles. Switched to rcv's and been fine. But also put 37's back on. But I also crawl conservatively. I like to come back to my motorhome and sleep there. Lol. Don't have to prove anything to anyone. It gets the job done and get complements alote. It does need paint. But builds charector. It's still alittle short in the tub for the wife kids and camping gear if we tent camp on trail. But last weekend was first trail camp and we were ok. (Rubicon). wife and daughter weren't there. I took my dad and my son. If I were to do it again maybe push front out more and back not so much. Enough of my ranting can't wait to see more pics of your build. Keep them coming.

How long are your front ORI's? And what size OD are your aluminum lower links in the front, and how long are they? My build is so similar to yours in so many ways its almost eerie, aside from the frame and tub stretch.

Those are fancy and pricey. Since mine are top mounted I wanted the lid water proof. Ended up ordering these. I couldnít for the life of me find a locking set in the size I needed. Figured if I really need a lock (which I probably donít) I could add a cam lock later.
