ambient temp sensor

I need some help my 96 xj sport is throughing a code for a ambient temperature sensor and bc if this my fan will not kick on and is.cause my jeep to over heat while im n traffic. I have already bought the sensor so I no what it.look like but I am unable to locate it. I tore the whole front grill apart but still no luck Mitchell dates its on right ride attached to the side of the radiator but its not. Any other.ideas?

The ambient temp sensor is for the overhead display and shouldn't have any relation to the fan, it only the outside air temp. There is a temp sensor on the driver side (LHD) of the 4.0l block near the motor mount.

Please stop cross posting, and delete your other two threads.

I tryed to but it wont let me delete them I ment to only put this on Cherokee form like normal but it apparently went to 3 so i do apologize. Im on my phone not a computer
