YJ TF999 transmission swap

I have a 1987 YJ with the 4.2 engine, Chrysler TF A999 transmission, and an NP207 transfer case. What transmission can I swap in the TF A999's place? I would like to keep the 207 transfer case. Maybe even go with a manual transmission.
My problem is that I've had a pan leak for quite a while, and I can't get it to stop. I've changed out the gasket several times, bought a new pan, had a friend of mine rebuild it, and added a transmission cooler. Idling its fine, but when I drive it for a few miles it blows fluid from the pan. Not a small leak either, it pours. Transmission performs great, just leaks. It all started when my torque converter broke off the pump drive tabs. When I had it out to replace the T/C I welded up the vent in the pump and moved the vent over the forward band in the transmission. Its like its building too much pressure.
Its a really great transmission and I'd like to keep it, but I can't handle the leaking anymore and can't find another 999 that I can afford.

Did you torque the bolts down or just a wrench...

Reason I ask first time I did mine I tighten till was tight.. Leaked like crazy.. Next time to 12 lbs and no leaks...

Sector shaft seal leaks are often mis-diagnosed as leaking pan gaskets...

Yes they have always been tightened to 13ft lbs. Then when it leaks I have tried tightening them more. I have used cork gaskets, and rubber, with the same results.

This may seem like a stupid question, but what is a "Sector Shaft"? There's an input, output, and reaction shaft, but the input and reaction are in the front, and the output in the rear. It always starts leaking on the right side.

The RH 32 is the same body as a tf999, it just uses an electric locking torque converter. I would really look into how much goes into an AW4 swap, or any other transmission. I put an RH 32 into my tj, swapped it in for my manual, and it took a lot of small random parts to make it work, seals, dust covers, etc.

Mine leaks from the pan too, my second time out with it, I landed on a rock and bent the pan, I just replaced the gasket and it started leaking again, thats why I am sure its the pan. I am going to get the deep pan that they make for it any way, so it does not starve on steep hills.

I would either get another tf 999, or an RH 32, any other tranny will add up on random parts. As far as blowing transmission fluid out, thats weird, the pan is just a reservoir, and I would not think it is pressurized, are you sure its not a cooling line that is pressurized and leaking down on the pan? you can adjust the pressure of the pump, there is a guage port on the side. Look up the manual for it, there is all kinds of adjustments you could try first.

Sector shaft is the one that actually rotates to shift into each position. It is the shaft on the drivers side, near the neutral safety switch, that the shift linkage connects to.

what about swapping transmission cases? Going on the idea your case is warped and that is why you can't get the pan to seal.

OK, I got you, the Selector Shaft. Not leaking on the driver side though.

I actually thought about that, but can't find a 999, or a 904 case anywhere.
