Birthday CJ7 Rebuild

My wife picked me up a project for my birthday. I have been looking at it for a while.
We own a 2011 JKU and love it. I always wanted a CJ.

Well, it doesn't look like a CJ. This is what it looked like coming off the trailer.
My dogs are always there to help.

Specs;
-CJ tub, frame, and front D30
-YJ grill, fenders
-Scout rear D44
-Chevy TPI350, TH400, NP205

My plan is build a trail Jeep that I can beat on.

Time for the tear down.

I had to cut all of the bolts and the front bumper was welded on.

I got the rear bumper off. I also had to cut all of the bolts off the back also

The body was crap and rusty. I cut it up and sent it to the dump.

Not sure why someone would do that sort of blasphemy to a CJ7 by cursing it with a YJ front clip, but to each his own. I guess I can't talk, though, I used to own a YJ, too.

And holy flaming shit, Batman! You weren't joking when you said you cut up the body.... what's the plan with it?

The TPI 350 is a torquey little bastard with the right set of heads, cam, and compression. Looks like you have an awesome project going on here.

Great start! Nothing better than getting a jeep project on your birthday!

What is the plan for the chopped up body? You turning it into a buggy?
