Repop Tubs

I've been doing alot of research and I'm considering all the alternatives. I know that all steel tubs are made by one company (MD Juan). I've read lots of threads about how things don't line up. I also know that Willy's Overland takes the parts and corrects the things that are out of spec.

I've also seen threads where the CEO of the company had posted on some forums and invited all criticism on their product. While I respect that, it doesn't change the fact that if they don't have a product that lines up fairly easily, I don't want to deal with it.

Most of the threads I've read about quality are from 06 - 09. Can anyone confirm or deny if the quality has improved in the last few years?

I'm also considering a Shell Valley tub, but don't want to lose the body lines and stampings you can get with steel.

Really, if I'm going to plunk 3K to 4K for a repop tub, I'm either going to fab or call TDK for a new frame.

I have been thinking about a new tub for a project I have. I am probably going to buy an Aqualu.

I've considered Aqualu too. I was really impressed with the CJ8 tub that Xtreme 4x4 used for their homebuilt CJ8.

Really, here are the options I'm considering:
- Repop Metal Tub
- Repop Glass Tub
- Donor Tub/vehicle with a decent tub
- Find a YJ and swap the front clip

For the time being, I want to ensure the bastardized tub on my CJ will fit a set of CJ7/YJ doors. In that case my current tub isn't too horrible and only needs floor pans in the front.

That's my plan for sure. My 20 yr old Jeep lived in the New England are all it's life, until I moved to New Mexico 2 yrs ago. It's got a lot of patched or covered up spots that I'd like to make go away. I'm patiently looking for a good used southwest tub for the project.
