But I don't have any chrome...does that mean mine's not a real jeep? or does that mean I don't have an engine?

I think there are some type of chrome tips around the outside of the headlights...am I still cool?

Guess I am a newbie here though I have been using this board for a couple months so I thought I would introduce myself.I live in the San Francisco bay area and drive an 87 YJ that was stock a year ago.It is my first Jeep and did all the mods either by myself or with help from guys that I met from this board. So far have 2 1/2 in RE suspension lift,1/2 in RE lift shackles,1 in. JKS bodylift with 33x12.50x15 BFG mud terrains on canyon crawler rims. JKS telescoping track bar,RE disconnects, 4.10 gears on 94 stock axles, magnaflow muffler, bestop supertop, etc and so forth. 4.2 with 5 speed manual. anyway, its great fun and glad to have found this board!

Hi - I've been registered for a while, just lurking. 92 Wrangler with a tired 4.0, 44's front and rear all locked up, 231 heavy duty short shaft kit, enough dents and wrinkles to give it some character, getting ready to make room for 35's underneath.

Damn, I'm not the only Mainer anymore, and there is even someone else from little Old Town.
And Bootintheass, how did you get in the BDN if you live all the way down there in Yuppiesville (I mean Gorham )

well oldbies I like the way that you call us newbies,I had my first jeep in the mid 70s,i`ve had 5s,7s & now a YJ,most of you oldbies were still on your moma`s tit, when we needed lift we took our springs off and restacked them or rehamered them, when we needed shackels we made them,we did not get on the puter and order a liftkit & say that it is a built jeep not bought, don`t get me wrong puters & sites like this are great. So thats just a post from a NEWBIE oh yes we had to walk 5mls to school in the snow without shoes

Good God Charly, I was starting to think I was the only person on the east coast on this board...talk about feeling isolated. Anyway, I live in Houlton (hardly Yuppiesville, more like Hickville) and was headed south when that happened. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a BDN in the greater Portland area....I go to school here in Gorham. Don't think I like it, EVERYTHING is fawkin paved down here! It's like they've never heard of skidder trails, the poor bastards.

Oh, and Bootsintheass...how clever. beeyotch. Don't make me come up there and run you off the road...you see I'm good at it. Be nice to a fellow Mainiac.

Boots

p.s. And hey, five minutes of fame is five minutes of fame, dumb assed or not. <sigh>

Ok, you got me... I'm new to this board.

Just wanted mention something that's really been pissing me off lately... some jerkoff that I run into occasionally likes to refer to his dodge durango as his "Jeep".

Any suggestions (that wont get me thrown in jail) would be appreciated.
