Have you decided on a steering setup yet? I can't remember if you had. I'm leaning towards using a couple isuzu steering reverse boxes and just making the steering linkage a "z". My box is about 2ft from where the column will come down.

I'll probably use a 90-degree box from a Class A motorhome, along with other H.D. bits. I haven't gotten to the point of addressing the steering yet, but have certainly investigated several options. I considered the same Isuzu box option that you did, but with the weight of my "aftermarket" Super Duty chassis, I don't feel the parts are heavy-duty enough for my application.

Some of the dodge based class As from the 70s had power boxes of a similar style as factory fc though you'd still have a goofy fc steering setup with the bell crank

Thread hijack

Since I'm keeping the stock chassis in my fc going to stuff the biggest tank i can find underneath in back. Alsoo planning on building my own aux tank out of Jerry cans, building a mount on the side and plumbing them together so they fill as one. The hard part will be figuring a fuel sender(maybe boat parts or a glass sight tube)

Not sure if Craig is keeping up with this thread or not. My buddy ended up buying the project and relocated it all to Texas. I'll check and see if he's registered on here to keep the thread going.

As far NE as you can get, Texarkana. I'm pretty sure he's going to continue to update the Facebook page the previous owner setup.

Thanks, ElkyRacer. Yes, Chris is giving the Patina Rod a great new home!

For everyone else, I'm hoping Chris will keep this thread going. He's been posting on the FC170 Patina Rod Facebook page.

We've been busy selling a house, moving, remodeling another house, and getting a new garage ready to go. Life's been busy, to say the least.

Craig

New owner still has it. He's working on some other projects at the moment so it's just sitting in the shop waiting it's turn.
