STEERING HELP!?!?

I have a 91 Xj And the steering wheel has alot of play to it. I can literally move it around while driving. Also the ignition lock cylinder can be a pain to turn if I don't have it at the right angle. It has tilt wheel and I've been told some bolts over time loosen up. And I need special tools. Any info on this problem would be greatly appreciated

Is it the tilt column, the box or the linkage?

Have somebody turn the wheel back and forth while you look for the slop under the front end. Pry gently on tre's to see if they are tight.

You have been told correctly. There are 3 bolts down inside the tilt steering column that will work loose over time and cause the problems you're having. You need a steering wheel puller, some snap ring pliers and some patience to fix the problem.

There are a ton of "how to" Youtube videos if you search "loose tilt steering column". The process for a GM column will be the same.
