2007-4 door jeep 1 ton/LS-3 Conversion help

I have gotten my hands on a 2007 4 door jeep, LS-3 and automatic transmission out of a 2012 camaro. I am wanting to take the 1 ton running gear and tri angulated 4 link suspension out of an old crawler buggy and put in the jeep. I have done a search and found lots of misc pictures on the conversions but haven't found a thread that shows the best place to mount the engine. Can someone point me in the right direction that could help me fast track this build? Thanks for any info.

There is no best place. Location will be dictated by steering clearance, headers, firewall, hood, and front suspension/axle at bump.

Thanks, I would also like to try and run hydraulic steering with a manual gear box for some sort of back up so I can run it on the road.

Head over to JK Owners, there are crap loads of us running tons and V8's in JK's. You just posted in the least JK friendly board on the whole internet.

The things you are talking about doing have been done by many.

I really don't get this mentality. I know it's not a hardcore jeep but my 4door jku fucking rocks on 37s. Great wheel base, way more power than any other stock engine jeep I have ever wheeled and drives great on the highways. Sounds super gay

Well after acquiring parts for this project for over a year now and just not having time to do anything with it I decided to take it to rpm extreme and get the thing going for me. Hopefully all goes well then I can put my triangulated four link front/rear 1 ton stuff under it.

I have a build thread going on at JKOwners you might want to check out. 4dr JK, LS swap and F&R double triangulated 4 links. The rear is easy, the front is not.

Blue jeep build - JKowners.com : Jeep Wrangler JK Forum

You're in good hands with Jon at RPM Extreme. I used his swap kit for mine. Dude knows his shit.

Thanks I sure will. I have an existing rock crawler that I'm robbing the parts out of, although I do have to figure out the manual over hydraulic ram steering.
