Stand alone 5.3 in a JKU?

Iím wanting to put a 5.3 in my JKU, I want to pull all of the Jeep computers and wiring out, including the factory hvac, etc, basically just keep the body, frame, and what trim I can on the inside, then replace with gm computers, parts, wiring etc, has anyone done this with their JK? Iím sure itís more complicated then it sounds.

This is and will be my daily driver, so I would like to keep power steering and brakes, as well as standard safety features if possible. I donít care if I have to replace gauges and stuff.

It would be easier to add a FCA engine. If you go that route contact Modern Muscle they can use the FCA engine PCM for that engine and run a second old PCM to power all the instruments and can bus.

They have a custom setup that uses the stock ecu to run an LS motor, that would probably be the easiest for your goals.
