03 Rubicon steering box R&R?

First off let me say I'm not new to Jeeps, just never had one this new...LOL
Long story short I need a steering box. From everything I can find the 03-06 boxes are different but I can't find out what makes them different.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My brother has a good steering box out of a 97-99 and I would like to swap it in if possible.

They are totally different, complete different mounting.
I do have a like new 05 steering box with 30,000 miles on it for sale if you're interested. I mounted a Yj steering box on mine when I stretched my wheelbase.

The top front bolt is different on 03-06 steering boxes, by about half an inch. the 98-99 Durango V8, 5.9 non-snow plow are the preferred replacement steering box if you have a hole saw and a welder. It took me about 3 hours to complete.

I took a hole saw and cut out the sleeve, welded in new location, plated it for extra safety and called it good.

The 03-06 are completely different kluged up mercedes shit. Luckily, modding your TJ to take a better box isn't all that hard.
I'm too new to add a link to a write up.
Move the front sleeve in the frame, collapse the steering shaft, and use the 97-02 steering hoses while replacing the box with the Durango one mentioned earlier.

I have done this to my 04 and 05 with the Durango box.

PM me how much you want and are you willing to ship to 12873? thanks

Thanks for all the info guys, If this doesn't work out I may look for a Durango box. I'm sure I can sleeve the frame.
