P1391 - 98 wrangler

CMP or CKP Signal Intermittent Condition
-new engine and timing chain
-new LUK flywheel
-new mopar crank sensor
-new mopar cam/distributor pickup

Runs great (well, as good as a 2.5L gets). Absolutely no symptoms or any misfires, hard starts, etc. No other codes. I've checked all the connections and harness. No frays, crimps, corrosion, or anything else that would cause an issue.

Started ~400 miles after engine install. I can clear the code, drive 5 miles, and on the next key turn it will throw the code. Still, zero symptoms minus that damn dash light.

Short of pulling the check engine bulb, what am I missing?
Im not happy, until youre not happy.

You might not have the distributor sync'd properly. Might be one tooth off. does the distributor body still have the two locating tangs? There's a hole in the reluctor plate and distributor body that you drop a pin, drill bit or allen wrench through to line up the rotor when the engine is at TDC #1. The distributor base is the same one as a 6 cylinder, there are two holes in the relictor plate that the pin will go through, you have to choose the correct one for the 4 cylinder.
