Regulations are strict here in Quebec any modification to the frame will make you fail a mechanical inspection so I would gladly outboard but its not really an option for me.

Best option maybe to have someone custom make you a shock shifter

I'm sure if it was done professionally and everything was painted up that very few inspection garages would even notice.
