How to change pinion angle?
I want to use a D44 out of a Scout II in a spring over Scrambler. I also need to change the pinion angle . How much can I grind on the knuckle to change the pinion angle and how much can I change the pinion angle? How did you do it? Can tapered shims be used?
Grind all the weld out and either remove the inner knuckle C and reinstall at the angle you want it.... or grind all the weld out and bash the inner C with a big ass sledge hammer to the angle you want it (heating the C with a torch may help)
since your going spring over just weld the spring perches on to set pinion angle, doing the above will allow you to get proper caster with the new pinion angle.
