95 Head, 97 Block

Does anyone know if I can put a 95 2.5L head on a 97 2.5L block?
I have been battling my 97 TJ engine in my 95 YJ for a year now, and I am about to give up and go back to a YJ engine. I would like to see if I can swap the head with a 95 so I donít have to spend $1000 on a remanufactured YJ engine.

I know this isn't super hardcore, but I doubt any newbie would be able to answer that.

yes and it will actually flow much better because it is the casting number 7120 head 91-95. the only difference in the block vs the 95 is that there was some webbing and some crank girdle additions made. when people make a stroker out of the 4.0 they use the 91-95 head and the block of personal choice.

The 7120 head is a 6 cylinder head, you are talking about the 4 banger correct?? I have no knowledge of that, but I think brokenujoint didn't not realize you were refering to the 4 cylinder.

I wish I could, but I don't have the money. I need to work with what I have.
