What ratio for my Jeep?

I am finally ready to regear the 3.42's in my Jeep.

I have front and rear sets of 4.10s ready to be swapped in. However, I also have an extra set of 5.13's for my 10 bolt.

I am reasonably happy how the Jeep drives right now, and and I am fine with my low range as I use 2nd gear a large majority of the time while wheeling. Its just the fact that I can't use 5th gear on the highway which bothers me. The 4.10's should fix that problem. The 5.13's would give me a better crawl ratio, but I don't want my 350 screaming while driving down the highway either. My street tires are 33 radials and my offroad tires are 36's. Decisions, decisions...

I would appreciate any info from those who have regeared.

Thanks,
Jesse

Go as low as you can.

With a 350 and a nv4500 bo low you should be fine with 4.10's.

If you wanted more crawl in future, just 4:1 the 300 instead. Then you have tons of crawl, but half decent hiway revs as well.

good luck

Good Call. I didn't think about that, I am used to my tired 4.0L and AW4.

I'm thinking 4.10's are going to be the ticket.

^ what he said... or if you want to buy new gears 4.56 would be a good option.
