Need tips on cleaning corroded clear coat rims

Like the title states, I'm looking for a way to remove or repair the clear coat on my AR aluminum rims. They are starting to look pretty bad due to the clear coat lift off of the surface, especially where they had the wheel weights attached. The only advice I've heard is to sandblast it off, but this makes the aluminum look crappy.
Thanks in advance ,Joe

The aerosol cans of 'Aircraft stripper' they sell at Wal-Mart does a good job of eating that stuff off.

Would you want to keep it off your tires or will they be ok?

Couldn't tell you... the wheels I stripped didn't have any tires on them. Since its some pretty aggressive chemicals, I'd say don't get anymore on your tires than you have to.

Keep that crap off your tires you and everything else. It burns like hell and burns ASAP. Used this crap on aircraft and on my powder coated bike frame, took the powder coat off in like 15 sec.
