Welding 35C

So, I was just given a set of spider gears and spare shafts for my 35. It will be getting an axle swap in the nearish future. And, with the spares, I'm debating welding up the rear until the swap comes. It is free. Its got cut 32 tsls on it right now that are wearing low anyway, 4 banger, and a heavy but smart right foot. Anybody have experience with breaking? Think I'm gonna break an axle on the first run? I'm just a bit concerned about being stuck on the trail having to fix my shity 35.
