Fixing threads on YJ Rear Pinion

Anyone know the thread pattern of the stock YJ rear pinion on a 93? In putting in a new rear yoke, the threads on the pinion go a bit messed up. I've tried running a new nut on it, but it just kills the threads. I tried cleaning up the threads with a dremmel tool, and with a hand file, but I think I'm making it worse. Any suggestions short of new gears? Anyone know the thread size? or where to get a cheap die?

good luck finding a die to fit that

that is heat treated metal, won't be easy fixing the threads on a pinion

you could get a thread file but that would require removing the pinion itself but something tells me they are muffed up bad enough where the file won't work

A standard 3 sided triangle file can be used to dress up the threads if they are not too boogered up.

I see what a thread file is now, never seen one before. Anyone know the thread pitch of the threads? Also anyone know of a local place to get a thread file? Would napa have something like this?
