K&N Air intake for Wrangler 1997 with 5.3 vortec engine?

I have a 1997 Wrangler TJ with a Vortec 5.3. Id like to buy the K and N intake air filter, but I am not sure if it will fit under the hood. I bought already the afe air intake complete kit, model aFe 54-10092, and it is so big that the pipe is already too long, without even the box and the filter itself. Not that I was planning in fitting the cold air box anyway. But definitely too big. Any suggestion about what kit would fir? I called once Advance Adapters and they told me that they usually use the KandN kit, but at this point Id like to be sure. BYW, anybody interested in the aforementioned kit? I am going to sell it soon on Ebay.
Thank you for your help. Paul.

Airaid, K&N ect, reusable (cleanable) air filters pass a lot of fine dust. Look at the inside of the air tube on any engine running one. I use a shop-vac bag over mine…

None of the "kits" I found will work. I pieced mine together for about $100 with parts I got on Ebay.
1ea. 4" to 3" rubber 90degree elbow, to connect to the throttle body.
1ea. 3" diameter 45 degree mandrel bent aluminum intake tube (about 18" long)
1ea. 3 to 3.5" silicone hose adapter to go from the above tube to the MAF.
1ea k&n filter with the opening the same size as the other side of the MAF.
It routes directly over the alternator with the filter setting just behind the drivers headlight area.
My neighboor is running the same set up on his 5.3 CJ7.
