4.2 head questions

i have an 85 jeep 4.2l and im putting a new head on it i got the new head and the bolt holes all line up but are smaller in diameter so my bolts wont go in? any ideas

The years of your heads are different, sorry i forget the years exactly, but they used 7/16 and 1/2 inch head bolts, depending on the year.

I don't see why not, i drilled my block out from 7/16 to 1/2(4.0 head swap), so i don't see why you couldn't do the same to the head.
