YJ dash speaker R&R

Anybody have any tricks to getting the dash speakers out??...without pulling the dash. This is on my daughters 91 with AC, I would like to replace the dash speakers before putting a trail cage in. I can barely touch the passenger side speaker studs/nuts..let alone loosen and then remove and replace the speakers. I can't even touch the upper driver side speaker studs.

Seems that pulling the dash would be more of a pain in the ass than its worth.

Yeah took me awhile to do mine. I took the entire dash apart and put the speakers in. I would suggest getting the bracket for 5.25 speakers because they are better then stock 4x6 size. Also get decent speakers. I blew my pioneers out already and I am not replacing them again. Its to much of a hassle. Have fun and have her help maybe her hands can fit better.

Did mine, and what a PITA. I wouldn't think twice about cutting the dash and mounting some new ones from the outside. I couldn't do this with my fixed cage, unfortunately!
