ax15 swap question

I have a 94 yj with an external slave and was wondering if an ax15 out of a 90 xj would work. I know the bellhousing and bearing retainer would have to be swapped over to use the external slave. The question is are the xj trans clocked differently?

i am not sure they could be clocked differently. they are both bolted up to 4.0's right? and thhe shifter comes right out of the top of the trans body. the mounting point for the shifter should be, for all intents and puposes level. so if the bolts on both motors are the same and the bolts holding the trans to the bell housing are the same then it would not be "clocked" at all. somebody put the kiebash on this if i am wrong but it sounds pretty simple to me.

no yer right, but i think hes wondering about the clocking on the t/case. and they are the same as well. if it was me look for a TJ with external slave cylinder. should work the sme and bolt right up. might be easier.
