Looks like 38.41:1 but I am not sure what transfer case you have.

www.GrimmJeeper.com/gears is a good resource also. Post up what you get when you calculate your crawl ratio.

231 t-case has a 2.72:1

so its 3.93x2.72x3.73 = 39.87

An ax5 has a first gear ratio of 3.93....

An ax15 like in his sahara, has 3.83 first gear.

as stated above, the 231 has 2.72 low range ratio...

Transmission first gear(3.83) X T Case low range(2.72) X Axle ratio (3.73)

= 38.85 to 1. Which is decent if your running a 205/65R14, its crap if your running anything bigger than 31's.

Crawl ratio is NOT a bragging number though. your rig on 30" Stock GSA's would have a forward momentum of 2.52 feet a second at 750 Rpm(Crawl ratio of 38:1). Yet if you built your rig with the same tranny and t case, had D60's packed with 4.56's and running on 38" tires, would have a crawl ratio of 48:1 and still move at 2.61 Feet/sec.

So you built a wicked rig on D60's, with a 48:1 crawl ratio it must be better than a stock TJ, the crawl ratio is better!!

But your stock TJ was actually slower than this built rig. Crawl ratio is only a usefull number when matching gearing choices with tire size.

3.93X2.72X4.88 = 52:1 on 33's = 2.07 feet/sec
