Jeep voltage regulator

I am putting a 2006 4.0 into a '94 YJ. I would also liek to use the accessories that came with this engine. Everything is mounted and ready to go, but I am concerned about the alternator. On the YJ the voltage regulator is built into the ECM. Was this the same on the 2006 TJ\LJ as well?

Also does anyone happen to know the length for the serpentine belt I will need noo a 2006 4.0 without A/C?

Rick

Wrong. On the YJ the regulator is not built in the ECM. On the 2006 it is. So you need to get an external Regultaor. Abvoid the cheap ones. get one for a FORD. Those are great units and will last forever.

Just spoke with Mean Green alternators. From what they tell me both the 1994 and 2006 are externally regulated. They even looked up their part numbers for both vehicles and verified both are externally regulated.

From 2000 to 2006 models the regulator is built in the ECM.
