How to check is short side is bent D44

I've got a little seeping at the bottom of the tubing where it goes into the housing. I may just be paranoid, but I'm concerned that the short side may be bent. Visually, it's not that obvious. Axle is a cut down Ford HP44.

How can you check the housing for straightness?

Get a straight edge ie a framing square, 1 or 2 ft level something of that nature would be o good place to start
