M38 steering upgrade

I want to upgrade the steering box and column on M38. It has all stock axles and suspension. I don't need power steering and I don't want the box to show in the front. Is there a more modern type with the same basic configuration out there. I basically just want to have the box and column separate pieces so I can have more column options, everything else can stay the same. I don't care what it comes out of or what I have to do to put it in, I could use a little help with what box might work and where to find it. Thanks

Yup, Mieser beat me to it. On my A1 I'm in the same boat. Going to do an open knuckle Dana 30 and see what that gets me, but the Ross can't be long for this world...

My issue is really the column, I have a brand new original steering box I was thinking of altering the input shaft so I can install a different column. A different column would make it easier to wire directionals, horn and maybe a tilt wheel to help clear my fat belly.
