Volunteer State '47 CJ2A

I picked this up last weekend on a trip to Tennessee.
A client of my Uncles was looking to rehome it.
Story is, he bought it in ~'83 and had it went thru in 84-85 by Doug's 4 Wheel Drive in Maryville, TN (not sure if they're still around)
Best I can tell, Doug's did some paint work, the soft top, tires, probably a mechanical once-over, and swapped in a Buick Odd-fire V6.
He drove it until the late 80's and parked it when he got laid off for a while.
It was last registered in '90, it probably last ran some time around then.
It was sitting in an old dairy barn that was missing some of the roof and most of the window panes.
We took some good pics of the actual "barn extraction" since actual barn finds are kinda cool.
I'll get those uploaded later on.
Anyway, here it is: 1947 Willys CJ2A with a Dauntless swap

I'm not going to be doing a build per se, but I'll document bringing it back to life and share it on here.
Plan is to get it cleaned up and running/driving/steering/stopping well enough for my wife to buzz around town in, and I'll take it places with the quads for that type of bombing around activity...no hardcore wheeling.
I've got a brand new set of General Grabber AT2's sitting in the attic I'll probably throw on, small winch, nothing fancy.

Nice find, it looks pretty good.

Flatfenders are very cute when they are "original"

Yeah, we'll see what happens with it.
I'm probably not even going to be able to monkey with it until after my October Moab trip...
But I definitely know how things can spiral out of control!

It is pretty "cute" isn't it?
That's probably why my wife likes it so much.
It's a little crusty in spots, but I'm sure I can make it solid enough for driver status.
Cool thing is, everything is all there.
