Custom work from RLC Welding

Probably going to grow in 2015 and hire another guy.

I'll be looking for unique and creative jobs or jobs that are a good fit with our capabilities.

I don't want to be cnc plasma cutting cheap tabs or link brackets and am not interested in fixing utility trailer or dumpsters.

I do want to design and build more cool stuff and prototypes.

Most of my equipment is manual and geared towards one-offs and low production and not high quantity production.

Contact me to discuss your project.

General Shop Capabilities/Equipment:

CNC Plasma Cutter 5x10

Ironworker with punch, shears (Flat, angle and bar) and notcher. HUGE 20" throat on the punch end.

10'x14ga leaf brake

32"x 3/16" or 24"x 1/4" press brake

24"x16 ga pan brake

Tube bending including square tube

Flat stock, bar bending

Mig welding steel and aluminum

Tig welding all metals

Radial Drill press with 24" throat

We have a Milling Machine 9x48 and a 10x24 Lathe but machine work is limited to more simple fab type jobs, i.e. power tapping, drilling and slotting holes, turning down diameters, facing off, etc.

Sheet metal roller 50"x16ga.

Bead roller with 36" throat.

We have a TON of support equipment/tools and have recently gotten some more metal shaping stuff.

We can get material next day generally, or can help you source same day. I have accounts with the major steel suppliers in Louisville and sometimes have them handle my production laser and brake work.

Facebook is RLC Welding and Fabrication Instagram is rlcweldfab

Thanks for looking.

Bumpers are still my main thing but I've always done some level of job shop work...and am lucky enough now to pick and choose projects that interest me.

Still have to pay the bills though.

I made one before I got a plasma table. I'll try to find pics.

I'd need a vehicle/stock bumper to make the next one.

Could be similar to my Dodge Ram bumpers or Nissan Titan Bumpers.

Re: Bumpers

I've made them for a ton of vehicles, probably a lot I don't have ads for on ebay or in the vendor armor section.

Just ask and I'll tell you what I think or if I've made one before.

I stay away from TJ JK Wrangler bumpers in general, though I've made a few over the years.

Good way to google search is >>>>RLC bumper chevy pirate <<<<(or insert ford or xterra or nissan, etc) and the threads will show up.

Image search also works.

I'm on a lot of forums as jamscal, same as here.

Thanks

Ballparking the price...$350 out of 1 3/4" hrew.

This is something that would have to be done locally to you though.

Thanks,

James

I have F&R ZJ bumpers made by you for a few years now, thank you again BTW, yeah I know I need to get some pics for you

question: how sharp of an edge can you do with the CNC plasma? I would like to have a (since I'm in TX) a branding iron made with my company logo. I can provide vector art.
I was thinking it might not be too hard to cut out the letters, then weld a back plate to the backside of them with a plug welds to each letter from the back or something like that and then weld a hand holding rod to be able to put this in the fire.
what do you think?

It's possible, but depending on the definition needed waterjet or laser might be better. I made a brand a while back just playing around.

It's on my instagram @rlcweldfab near the start but can't find the pic online right now, just burnt a pc of wood with it.

I found it in your pics, I need one that is 7 characters long so the letters would need to be smaller to scale to about 6" total width. The execution of your brand pic is exactly what I was thinking it would be with the mount and letters.
do you have the ability to do water jet or laser like you talked about?

I can only do plasma. I get stuff lasered in quantity sometimes but don't have a real source for small one offs.

Got a new bigger shop with crane recently. Pic is the mess as we moved in.

Just got a Pulse mig setup with push pull gun so we can really lay down the aluminum.

Bought it for a large job coming up, but have an order for an aluminum bumper already....I'm sure any of my bumpers can be recreated in ally.

Basically a prop for some high level training scenerios. We've made more than a few of these.
