i understand trail maintenance and involved with a lot of it on Rubicon and Fordyce, but never expected someone to be pushing it at hammers. Hopefully there is a good reason and not just to make it easier.

By that argument VV4W had no right to make the original trail, and you have no right to run it and destroy it pristine desert. As I'm sure you are aware from the work to save JV, 99% of Americans don't rock crawl and there are lots more environmentalist then offroaders. Many many people think the entire area should be left as it originally was.

They made the trail, they maintain it, they can do what they want with it. If you don't like it cut your own and maintain it.

Just got back from hammers and ran sledge yesterday. I would say the trail is exactly the same minus the plaque. It sucks that the plaque is gone but I'm glad they didn't neuter the rest of it.

I also noticed the cement starting to crack in one place. Hopefully the more people run it the more it will go back to normal

I ran it over New Years weekend. All of the cement is cracking and breaking. I guess these guys are not contractors, hahhahhahhaha. I think after KOH week it should start looking like it used to.

Yep. People that think sledge is "hardcore" are the ones complaining. If it is not "hardcore" enough for you anymore, run one of the MANY harder trails out there, or make your own like VV4W did. I know some of the people who are complaining, and they struggled with it as it was, lol.

It always does. VV4W does work on some of the trails that they made, and it always goes back to where it was within a year with all of the high-HP big-tire rigs running it (including mine).

Now, whoever dropped the house-size boulder into the middle of SOS a few years ago - THAT was a focking trail mod!!!!!
