Here are some from last weekend, it was nice and hot on Saturday but still fun.
Speaking of Cougar Buttes...
We were out there for the last 4 days as well. Had a great time. However, whoever put up Bullfrog and Cakewalk may want to go pull up most of all the markers and arrows that are PLASTERED all over the place. The two trails are vary cool, but they meander criss-crossed all over the place like SPAGHETTI!
They aught to call it Cakewalk Park...cuz it is! But like I said, it is a very cool set of trails. The cool thing about them is that you can make them as easy as you wish, or you can do much more difficult variations. The trails are evidently claimed to be established by a FJ Cruiser club. Most of these trails we played on a few years ago when they were a network of trials bike single-tracks. We also did one we called "Hole in the Wall" in 2006 that they now call Hammerdown. When we did it, there was not one sign of a four wheeler in there at all. In fact we had to do some vegetation work to get us through. Now it's all manicured by others.
We also did a few other cool and hard trails up through some steep and full of large boulders and huge holed canyons. And none of them had ever seen four wheels, let alone two till this last weekend.
Here's a few of my pix:
This last one is of my buddy heading back down to his Jeep saying "No way...not me!" However the one's who made it are tube buggies.
There's also some fairly good rock climbing in the area too. Cuz and I did a couple of routes on The Finger, aka Hercules Finger. It sits about 6 miles north of the camp area:
