Question is, does anyone ever fitted a currie anti -rock sway bar to a defender???

Is there a thread or pictures somewhere?

there's gotta be a pic somewhere of frankenrover's. Didn't doc what's his nuts in Dallas also have one on his 90 at one point? Think it was documented on d90.com. So search here for frankenrover build up and then check d-90.com for it.

The standard Defender sway-bars are about the same torsional stiffness as a Currie anti-rock bar - so you may as well just fit one of those!

The front suspension, by virtue of it's geometry has a lot of anti-sway built in - so doesn't really need any extra unless you want to change the on-road handling.

We've gone down the route of making unlockable rear bars (disconnects) which give you much better handling on the road but maintain as much articulation as possible off road. However, I appreciate Currie's point of view that you are sometimes better with a balanced vehicle even if the resistance to articulation is increased a little. If nothing else, it makes it less frightening to drive!

Stock rover away bar performs nothing like the antirock.

Proper use of sway bars is very important and should be used on most any rig. The sway bars from the factory will not perform the same as an aftermarket. You must tune your aftermarket sway bar to your suspension.

I have three sets left. A set is the two arms. The rest of the kit you would have to source (Isuzu rodeo torsion bar, hiems, bolts). $150 a set. At that price you can have the entire set built like mine for $225.

You can mount them anyway you want. You can even mount the tube/torsion bar on the axle.

That's the best way to do it if you are primarily a crawler/ DD.
