110's in US?

Aside from the obvious places to look (CL, Ebay, Defendsource), anyone have any good places to find 110's in the states? All I really care about is that it is here legally, has 5 doors, minimal/no rust, straight body/frame. Planning a Gen IV swap, just need the rig. Prefer LHD, but RHD is not out of the question if the price is right.

Seems that a lot of guys think their rusty 150k POS is worth $20k. Heaven forbid its a NAS. $65k for NAS 110 with branded title!

Import your own if you feel $20k is high for a rust free, dent free 5 door in the USA. That is your only chance.

I suppose you are right. I did find a very clean one from the Netherlands that just passed customs. $25k for LHD. Body needs a little love, but there are no huge rust holes.

Surely the importing would get much easier if you plan to keep it petrol!

That really isn't the issue. The biggest thing about importing them is that everything has to match as "factory original." No galvanized frames, no motor swaps. On top of that, there was a big sting operation this summer that involved a stolen parts operation in Europe.

The one that I'm looking at has a diesel that doesn't run. The importer is swapping in a TDi, which I'm going to pull out and sell. Once it gets in the country, you can do whatever you want to it.

From top of my head the Aus Army Perentie year models range from about 1985 to about 1990.

Edit, the existing 4x4 and 6x6 Land Rover Perenties are being sold off as the replacement G-wagens go into service.

Edit 2, year model is not a good gauge to the use of these vehicles, many are very low mileage, and all have been serviced to Defence specifications.

Year matters on the import though. They need to be 25 years old with matching VIN tags and engines. Everything has to be as it was installed at the factory or it will not pass customs and the importer has to pay for it to be crushed.

Thanks Ben, I didn't know Jaguar Rover Aus were still building perenties as long as 1996.

I knew when Isuzu updated the 4BD1 and 4BD1T engine in 89, JRA only used the updated 4BD1T and kept using the earlier 4BD1. But if they were still building them in 96, the late 4x4's may have received later spec engines.

The latest build plate on AULRO I have seen is 1996. I have heard that the last order caused a lot of problems. The ADF contract obviously had the option though. They had to manufacture LT95s 10 years after they were last produced and re-cast the custom bellhousings. No idea which 4bd1 variant was used.
