A little help - '89 Defender 110 running gear, what's it worth?

I have the complete running gear out of an '89 Defender 110 that is getting an LS3 swap. I know exactly zero about what used Rover parts are worth

Vehicle has only 40k miles on it, it's a right hand drive, I have the engine, 5 speed trans, t-case, axles, wheels, tires, etc. I've tried researching how much this stuff goes for but there's nothing out there to compare it to. I also understand that just because is rare it doesn't mean it's valuable.

I have a RHD Surf turbo diesel and would give a left testicle to have spare running gear like this. I figure there must be some hard core Landy owners out there, any help would be appreciated.

89 is before the Defender name. So are we talking 3.5 carby V8, 2.5NA diesel or what?

Gearbox is what, LT77 or LT85?

I don't think so mate, it's an 89 Defender. It's got a 3.5 v8. I was able to locate the vehicle by searching the VIN and here's the exact Defender it came out of Renovated Land Rover Defender 110 - Classic Land Rover Defender 1989 for sale

I looked up the VIN and did my best to figure out what this stuff is but I couldn't tell you the difference between a LT77 and an LT85 if my life depended on it.

Id say less than $1k. The running gear is nothing special, its the same as a RRC or D1. The transfer case is slightly more desirable as it has a lower ratio high range, but still not worth a ton.

The Defender name was only introduced in 1991. For the 8 or so years prior they were just Landrover 110's or 90's. They had drum rear brakes and a few other differences to the ones badged Defender.

LT85 is the bigger and tougher gearbox of the two and can be adapted to an Isuzu diesel. Which could give you a bigger market for it.

I think you're right, I posted everything (eng, trans, axles, tcase, exhaust, cat, etc) up for $1,500 and I only had 1 call on it. The demand seems very low on this stuff, I imagine you either really need it or you really don't. I guess I have a few boat new anchors
