My friend, going down a hill is easy, going up is hard...and also, it seems like EVERY single post you type in "they are 49 inch iroks"...yeah, we caught that...large tires...we know...now either ship it to Iceland/Greenland where it best belongs, or chop shit up and get it 2-3" lower...that, or let's see it on trails, rocks, going UP obstacles, etc...

my 2 cents...no hate, just being pragmatic and real...

otherwise, the accessories look good.

So what exactly is a gay truck? Is it a truck that lets another truck stick it's tailpipe in it's intake?

I wonder what kind of steering radius it has now...

Post up a picture with the wheel turned as far as you can. Or go away. Your choice.

Ahhhhh...

The cultural differences between UK wheeling and USA wheeling raises it's head once again. I've ridden in soccer mom rovers on terrain much tougher then that.

rikslandys, go sit and watch just ONE video of Moab or the Johnson Valley - even featuring stock trucks. Maybe you'll understand then...

You've hit the nail on the head there. Over here most people think that driving on an unsealed road is 'off roading'. They think they need lifts, winches and 35" tyres to drive tracks like the ones shown in the picture below. You can drive most of the stuff in an ordinary car.

You need to meet Tony Cordell, or drive the Mountain Road to Aberystwyth (hint, the Freelander I was driving was barely able to make it on the Mountain Road and there was no fawking way the green lanes Tony let me drive his 90 on were gonna be driven in the Freelander). Hell, I got a TD5 Discovery stuck on a greenlane in Oxfordshire and got heckled by a cyclist whilst doing it!

As for the truck, it's not what I'd build unless somebody were paying me, but to each his own.

I know the area well (the red car is in that area) and I've done most of the unsurfaced roads road around there in my unmodified Series 1.

If you are over again give me a bell and I'll take you out.

The big, gay Disco is primarily a publicity tool for the guy's business - and I think it does its job!

Cool! We're hoping to be heading over to meet with our new parts supplier, but it is likely to be later in the year, or next spring at the earliest. I'll definitely make sure we know how to get in touch with you before the next trip.

If the reason to build a truck is to promote one's business, that can be an excuse for building something outrageous. Not my cup of tea, but it's not my place to tell someone how to publicize their business any more than it is to be critical of the build other than from a technical perspective. I haven't seen much of this build so I can't bash him there!
