Hello Urban wheeler,I am just another stupid noob here just trying to find information from people with similar interest in IH. I came here with the intentions of sharing things that I have learned and also learning things that others might have already figured out to save me a headache. The problem is that after reading your "read first" post I already have a headache. It just doesn't seem like you want any noobs here at all.You discourage people from asking questions that may or may not have been asked before. Some of the best fabricators I have ever met have not even touched a computer before and I bet they wouldn't give you a list of things to do before you could ask them for help. All I am saying is that your introduction could be a little more friendly and a little less discriminating in my opinion, but I am just another noob anyway so woop tee doo. Well anyway, nice to meet you and good to be here.

Hey man, could you send me some details on your power steering on your scout? I've got a 67 800 with the 196 and I've looked at several different set ups. I see yours is outside the frame. If you have time, tell me more. Thanks, Mike

I bought my first motorcycle in '95. I rode that one for a couple years, traded it in on a new Ninja, and rode that for a few years. I was bikeless for 2 or 3 years until 2000 when I was given my granddad's old bike. I rode that for 8 years when I started to get serious about finding a new bike. I found what I thought I wanted, a CB750. It's a '73, and it's got a kickstarter. It's nicer in the way that it is bigger and I can stretch out on it, but it doesn't have the power that I would like,...

I read an article the other day about historical figures and how we know much about them. Many of these people had kept their correspondence, pictures, letters, etc. It's a look into the mind of famous figures, not only in what they say, but how they write and in their penmanship. Now that there is email, cell phones, digital pictures, and digital video, how will future historians see today? There won't be any hard copies of handwriting samples, no faded polaroids, and no shaky 8mm film footage....

All my life things haven't gone quite right. In fact, what I consider normal most would consider bad. Just about the time things start to go well, something happens and it all goes to shit. could it be karma, or am I subconsciously fucking myself? I don't know. It's easy to blame someone else, or to blame an abstract concept, but hard to look within yourself and find the problem. Even harder is to fix the problem, since you have lived it so long it is second nature to keep doing it.

I always seem to forget something until I'm all done.
The other day I had the tank off my bike so I could put the choke cable back on. I was in the middle of something else when I was doing this, and later when I putting the seat back on I noticed that I didn't have the fuel line on. On it goes. Today I left the house and the bike started running badly. I looked down and saw that I forgot to turn the fuel back on. Good thing I had seen that the fuel line was off before I went riding.

Last weekend I was on my way home from Tennessee when we stopped at a rest area in Kentucky. As I walked around stretching my legs I was reminded of an incident that could have resulted in mayhem, angry truck drivers, and a large towing bill...

I had stopped at a rest area for a mid day nap. It was a nice day so I shut off the truck and opened the vents for the fresh air. I don't know how long I slept, but when I woke I went inside to the restroom and then to the vending machines....
