Hello,

Can you make an adapter to mate a 2wd 4l60e to an np231j? I'm going to be using a jeep 6 bolt case with chevy internals.

Thanks,
-Mike

4l80-np205

I messaged u earlier this week about an adapter for an 4L80- np205 Chevy. You asked me about the bolt holes and I didn't really know. So I have a pic of my 205 and my L80 and maybe you can tell me what I need to make this work. Now my 205 also has a 10 spline shaft which I'm told needs to be changed. Any info or help on that would be great to!

Sorry for the delayed response, we have been out of town for a while. While you could make your figure 8 pattern 10 spline NP 205 work with your 4l80E, it is not worth the cost/effort in my opinion. By the time you source the input gear, bearing, and have the case machined for the larger bearing you could likely find a 32 spline 205. Your best bet is to find a 205 off a TH-400 or later model SM465 manual transmission. Either a figure 8(race track) or 6 bolt circular pattern case will work although a circular pattern case is preferred. Once you have the 205 figured out we can certainly help you out with a adapter, just give us a call. Regards,
Mike

I need a 4l80e to figure 8 adapter.
I would also like shifter mount (stock gm 205 shifter).
Price shipped to 75094.

Can you tell me what output shaft length I need for the 4l80 ?

Trans shop doesnt know.

Thanks in advance.

See this linkhttps://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showp...0&postcount=24

The fully splined shaft is ideal because you can cut it to what ever length you need. Using the stock 3" long 4x4 shaft is difficult with a figure 8 205 with the short input gear because it is actually too short, making the needed adapter nearly impossible to bolt together. Try to stick with any of the longer shafts, we can easily accommodate them with the figure 8 205.

Thanks,
Mike

Sending PM shortly.

700r4 to figure 8 205 is a very popular application for us. This adapter kit runs $325 shipped and to your point is nearly identical to the th350 adapter except longer. All of our kits include gaskets/seals and required hardware. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Mike
Is the factory th350 to np205 splined coupling long enough to work with this setup or do you need a longer one?

The amount of spline engagement on the 700r4 to 205 setup remains the same as the TH350. The 700r4 4x4 shaft is longer than the Th350 4x4 NP 205. The adapter is made longer to compensate and the factory TH350/NP205 coupler is used without issue.
Regards,
Mike

Interested in a Diablo for a 46RE to Diablo to Ford NP205 setup. 23 spline input on the Diablo. What kind of clocking options are on this?

Thanks!

Dodge NP 435 trans to NP 205 case

I have a 1979 Dodge that has a NP 435 4 speed and a NP 203 case ,I am wanting to change to a NP 205 case. I can not find the factory adapters to convert to this case . Can you supply an adapter to convert from NP 435 trapezoid shape to NP 205 Racetrack shape . It needs to be aprox. 6 inches in length with a mounting attachment.I can weld parts together. I will provide needed length measurements. Thanks and have a great and safe day .

Just wanted to post a couple pics of the setup I ordered from TTF. I'm converting my 2003 Chevy 2500hd from 2wd to 4wd and had Mike build me an adapter to mate the 4l80e to a Ford Np205. I gotta say that the parts I got from TTF are great, the price is right, and Mike's customer service is great. Here's a couple pics of my setup. Note that I added the trans mount to utilize the stock trans mount but the kit is supplied with a burly mount.
